Characterized by its smooth, scaleless skin, the Moonfish typically measures 15 to 20 cm in length, with some mature individuals growing over 30 cm. The fish has a vertically elongated and flattened body, with wide pectoral fins extending from the head to the abdomen. Its tail fin is deeply forked, and its small, flexible mouth can open and close. The Moonfish’s skin is silvery on the abdomen and blue on the back, with distinctive dark gray spots running along both sides, giving it a striking appearance. This unique fish is highly valued for its delicate texture and flavor, making it a popular choice for both local and international markets.
