Rambutan
Contact
Vietnamese rambutan, with main varieties such as Java and Thai rambutan, is grown primarily in the Western and South Central regions, covering about 50,200 hectares with an annual yield of approximately 300,000 tons. Dong Nai, Ben Tre, and Vinh Long are the leading growing areas. This tropical fruit, native to Southeast Asia, is named after the Malay word for “hair” due to its spiky, red and blue shell. The flesh inside is clear and mildly sweet, with a seed in the center.
